The Board and Staff of Wirral Methodist Housing Association with much sadness announce that Anne Steel has recently passed away following a long and determined battle against cancer.
Anne has been Head of Housing at Wirral Methodist HA since 2010. Anne is very well known in the north west housing circle having previously worked for Plus Dane Housing, Liverpool City Council, and Rochdale Council.
During Anne’s decade working on Wirral she developed a customer centric housing service that put the tenant first, and was led by a desire to meet their housing and support needs. Anne led on specialist and supported housing and this was particularly important to her knowing what a difference this made to young people’s lives.
The Chair of the Board, Lionel Bolland, said, “We are all so sorry to hear the news about Anne, we know how determined she has been during the last two years, and through adversity she has been able to continue to contribute to the work of the Association. Anne led the housing service with fairness and compassion and her humour and sense of fun will be sorely missed.”
The Association sends sincere condolences from all staff, Board and former Board members who have worked with Anne during the last 10 years to Anne’s daughter Natalie and the family.
The funeral service takes place at 2.30pm on Wednesday 12th August 2020 at Landican and donations to St Johns hospice may be made via this link
