Artist in Residence Resides At Clifford Grange
When New Ferry Butterfly Park asked for help to provide temporary accommodation for an artist involved in a community art project. Wirral Methodist HA invited Performance Artist, Gerald Curtis, to stay in the guest accommodation at Clifford Grange. Gerald has been the Artist in Residence at The Comma Project in New Ferry during April, and has been running free art and poetry workshops for the local community at the Butterfly Park and their shop at 66 Bebington Road, New ferry. The Comma Project, which runs for a 6 month period until September, will have a different `Artist in Residence` each month, with Gerald being the first. Each artist will work with local people to produce artwork based on nature and the enviroment. He can be seen here giving a talk to the residents at Clifford Grange to explain a little about performance art and presented examples of his own work. New Ferry Butterfly Park is an urban nature reserve that was developed on the former site of a railway goods yard, coal yard and water softening plant at Bebington and New Ferry Station in Wirral, Merseyside, UK. More information about The Comma Project workshops or to find out the opening times of the New ferry Butterfly Park can be found on their website. www.newferrybutterflypark.co.uk/
