Data Protection Day 28th January
Today , 28th January is known globally as data protection day. On this day, organisations like Wirral Methodist Housing Association, want to raise awareness about the rights to personal data protection and privacy. In 2018, The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. GDPR is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information from individuals. People should be cautious when giving out their personal information. You should not be afraid to question anybody who asks you to provide data and you are unsure of their reasons for doing so. Anyone who is asking for you information should be doing so in line with GDPR so always look to make sure they are GDPR compliant. Your personal data is processed every second especially when they buy goods or services, travel or surf the internet. Individuals are generally unfamiliar with the risks related to the protection of their personal data and of their rights in this respect. They are rarely aware of what they can do if they consider that their rights have been breached. You should be cautious when giving out your personal information. You should not be afraid to question anybody who asks you to provide data and you are unsure of their reasons for doing so. Anyone who is asking for you information should be doing so in line with GDPR so always look to make sure they are GDPR compliant. As a UK resident, you have the right to protection against anyone using the collection of personal data the purpose not originally intended or agreed. Our Services
We now face a new lockdown as tough new restrictions are in place forbidding people to leave home for non- essential reasons. These restrictions will be reviewed by the government on 15th February 2021. Repairs
We are operating our repairs and maintenance services, in addition to the emergency and urgent repairs service . All services are being carried out in a manner that is safe for both tenants, staff and contractors. We are making sure our staff and contractors have the right personal protective equipment and are able to maintain social distancing. For example, if we come into your home, the engineers and operatives may be wearing masks, gloves and overalls and may ask you to wait in another room while they carry out a repair or a service. If you are contacting us to request that we visit your property, please let us know if anyone in your household is currently unwell due to Covid-19, or self-isolating due to vulnerabilities, such as being pregnant or having underlying health issues. We will advise you in each case about how we are able to support you. It is important that tenants continue to pay their rent and service charges. However, we understand that many of you will have lost some or all of your income and we are available on the phone or by e-mail link in the Contacting us section if you think you are going to struggle to make payments. If you have lost your job then you may be entitled to benefits and may qualify for assistance with paying your rent. Please contact us and a member of staff will discuss this with you. We will follow all government guidance concerning suspension of eviction proceedings. We will not commence any new proceedings or evictions against anyone in arrears or financial hardship caused by Covid-19 and we will take decisions on a case by case basis.Finding a Home - Property Pool Plus

Christmas Closure Dates and Times
Wirral Methodist Housing Associations Board and staff wish you all a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Our main office phone lines will close for the festive period on Thursday 24th December 2020 at 4.00pm and will reopen on Monday 4th January 2021 at 9.00am. If you have a emergency repairs during this time you can call Orbis 0151 343 2770 Orbis should only be contacted if there is a genuine emergency. Please report all other repairs from 4th January 2021. Calls to Orbis are answered in strict rotation so if your call is not answered immediately you should wait as your call will come up. The Association will recharge any tenant for calling out contractors for Non-emergency work. The office is closed to the public due to Covid 19 and will remain so until further notice.22nd December 2020
