Exciting New Development on New Chester Road
Construction works are underway and progressing with pace at our current new-build development, The Milliners. Sitting on the corner of New Chester Road and Rock Lane West, this new development will deliver 15 much needed one-bedroom apartments which will be available at an affordable rent, thanks to support from Homes England. The red-brick building has been designed to complement the local area and the building name reflects the history of the site as it was once home to a hat makers shop. Each apartment will feature an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, alongside a double bedroom, bathroom and store cupboard. The apartments will benefit from an on-site parking space and room for a bicycle in the scheme’s cycle store. Work started on site earlier this year and we’re aiming for a completion early 2023. Holmpatrick Developments is the main contractor on this project and they have demonstrated their ability to deliver projects of this nature on time and on budget, we’re pleased to be working with a partner like Holmpatrick to help meet the local housing demand. WMHA Board Member Claire Fouracre, took part in a brick-laying ceremony this week alongside members of the project team to mark the milestone of our first ‘Start on Site’ this year. Our Development Manager, Kiera Sayers, said of the occasion ‘It is wonderful to celebrate this project milestone with the team and a representative of our fantastic Board Members; we’re proud to be delivering homes which respond to the needs of the local area and it’s always good to bring a brownfield site back into use.’ In the picture David Whiteley, Employers Agent from Whiteley Eaves, Kiera Sayers, Development Manager WMHA, Claire Fouracres, WMHA Board Member, Adam France, Contract Manager, and Adrian Dale, Contract Manager from Holmpatrick Developments Ltd.
