In August 2009, we invited our residents and the wider Wirral community to take part in a rag rug making workshop to create a community piece of art entitled `what is possible`.
The initial idea was a simple one, to involve as many of our partners as possible and create someting new from fabrics that would otherwise hang around in peoples wardrobes or be thrown away.
So,we wrote letters to our supporters and partners and requested a donation of an item of clothing or fabric and provide alittle bit of information about the item.
Over the next few weeks, we were overwhelmed by the variety of donations sent to us and eagerly looked forward to seeing what the postman was going to bring next. we recieved upholstery fabric from Frank Field M.P., a golfing glove and hat from a `million dollar hole in one` contest,a Rydal school `old boys` tie, a wedding dress from 1967 and so the list went on.
The donated fabrics were then sorted, prepared and used by the helpers in the design and construction of the magnificent rag rug house.
